The Illampu Circuit is a remote journey around one of Bolivia's most imposing peaks. Cross passes over 4000m, walk through Aymara lands and marvel at glaciers, lagoons and deep valleys.
Timeline
LA PAZ - SORATA - LACHATHIYA
Travel to Sorata with views of Mt. Illampu and Ancohuma. Camp at Lachathiya (3850 masl).
LACHATHIYA - ANCOHUMA
Cross Ancohuma pass (4749 masl) with Andean flora and fauna. Camp at 3900 masl.
ANCOHUMA - COCOYO
Hike to Kurahuasi pass (4479 masl) and descent to Cocoyo village (3850 masl).
COCOYO - CHAJOLPAYA
Ascent to Sarani pass (4500 masl) with views of Mt. Wara Warani and Chajolpaya river.
CHAJOLPAYA - CHUJNA QUTA LAGOON
Cross Calzada pass (4900 masl) near Kasiri glacier. Camp at 4100 masl.
CHUJNA QUTA LAGOON - WARA WARANI
Hike to San Francisco lagoon and relax in natural hot springs.
WARA WARANI - MILLIPAYA - LA PAZ
Descent to Millipaya village and private transfer back to La Paz.
RETURN
Transfer from hotel to El Alto airport. End of services.
