Expedition Timeline
ARRIVAL IN LA PAZ (3640 M)
Reception at El Alto airport and transfer to the hotel in La Paz. Personal gear review.
LAKE TITICACA – COPACABANA – SUN ISLAND
Trip to Copacabana and navigation to Sun Island. Gentle acclimatization hike on the world's highest navigable lake.
RETURN TO LA PAZ
Return to La Paz. Free afternoon for cable car rides and urban acclimatization.
LA PAZ – CHIARKHOTA LAGOON (4680 M)
Transfer to Rinconada and trek to the base camp of Pequeno Alpamayo.
PICO AUSTRIA SUMMIT (5350 M)
Moderate technical acclimatization ascent. Spectacular views of the Cordillera Real.
TARIJA (5370 M) & PEQUENO ALPAMAYO (5410 M)
Double technical summit. Ascent to Tarija and glacial traverse to the iconic Pequeno Alpamayo.
TREK TO MARIA LLOCO (4620 M)
Scenic trek with views of Huayna Potosi towards the Maria Lloco valley.
MARIA LLOCO – HUAYNA POTOSI REFUGE (4680 M)
Trek to the base camp of Bolivia's most popular mountain.
HUAYNA REFUGE – HIGH CAMP (5280 M)
Ascent to the high camp (Refugio Roca). Preparation for the final push.
HUAYNA POTOSI SUMMIT (6088 M) – LA PAZ
6000m summit push. Full descent and return to La Paz.
LA PAZ – AIRPORT
