This expedition unites the two most emblematic colossi of Bolivia. **Illimani**, the silver guardian that dominates the La Paz horizon, and **Sajama**, the highest volcano in the country, located on the remote western altiplano.
It is a challenge designed for experienced mountaineers seeking to conquer heights above 6400 meters, combining high mountain logistics with the living culture of the Sajama and Pinaya villages.
The Master Itinerary
ARRIVAL IN LA PAZ (3640 M)
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Gear review for the Bolivian giants.
SUN ISLAND TOUR (3850 M)
Trip to Titicaca. Navigation and hiking on Sun Island for a mystical acclimatization.
RETURN TO LA PAZ
Return to the city and afternoon of rest.
REST DAY IN LA PAZ
Recovery of energy before the great ascents.
LA PAZ – PINAYA VILLAGE (3800 M)
Transfer to the foot of Illimani. Overnight in an Andean family home.
PINAYA – NIDO DE CONDORES (5200 M)
Ascent to the high camp of Illimani. Stunning views of the city of La Paz.
NEVADO ILLIMANI SUMMIT (6438 M)
Summit push for the silver guardian of La Paz. Descent to Pinaya village.
PINAYA – LA PAZ
Return to La Paz for resupply and rest.
LA PAZ – SAJAMA VILLAGE (4280 M)
Trip to the Western Cordillera. Visit to the "Sistine Chapel of the Altiplano".
SAJAMA – HIGH CAMP (5700 M)
Ascent to the high camp of Bolivia's highest volcano with porter support.
NEVADO SAJAMA SUMMIT (6542 M)
Summit push on the roof of Bolivia. Descent to hot springs to relax the body.
SAJAMA – LA PAZ
Final return to La Paz and farewell dinner.
LA PAZ – AIRPORT
Transfer to El Alto airport. End of the expedition.
