The Paramount Pyramid
Nevado Artesonraju 6025 masl is one of the most iconic mountains in the Peruvian Andes. Its perfect pyramidal shape is world-renowned for being the **Paramount Pictures** logo. Located in the heart of Huascarán National Park, it is the dream of every technical mountaineer.
The ascent through the south-east face from the Parón valley offers technical climbing on ice and snow with slopes up to 70°, demanding high-level physical and technical preparation. An incomparable aesthetic and sporting experience.
Mission Timeline
HUARAZ (3100M) – CASHAPAMPA (2900M) – LLAMACORAL (3760M)
Transfer to Cashapampa where donkeys wait. Trek through Yurakmayu river to Llamacoral. A smooth start for a high-intensity expedition.
LLAMACORAL (3760M) – TAULLIPAMPA BASE CAMP (4250M)
Ascent through Santa Cruz valley, passing Jatuncocha and Quisuarpampa lagoons to the base camp of Artesonraju south-east face.
BASE CAMP (4250M) – HIGH CAMP (5190M)
Technical ascent towards high camp. The path becomes steep and demanding, preparing us for the summit push.
ARTESONRAJU SUMMIT (6025M) – HIGH CAMP
Summit push at 12:00 am. Technical climbing on walls with 60° to 70° inclination. The reward is the view of the most perfect pyramid in the Andes. (Weather safety day available).
HIGH CAMP (5190M) – BASE CAMP (4250M)
Technical descent from high camp towards the comfort of base camp to celebrate the summit success.
BASE CAMP – CASHAPAMPA – HUARAZ (3100M)
Final return trek to Cashapampa and private transfer back to Huaraz city.
