This 12-day expedition is our most ambitious proposal in southern Peru. We have designed a journey that balances the mysticism of Inca temples with the adrenaline of high-altitude hikes above 5,000 meters.
Expedition Analysis
ORIGIN COUNTRY – LIMA (180 MASL)
Personalized reception at Jorge Chavez Airport. Transfer to a 3* hotel in Miraflores.
FLIGHT LIMA – CUSCO – HOTEL
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Reception and transfer to a 3* hotel in the Imperial City.
CITY TOURS: INCA TEMPLES AND PALACES
Visit Qoricancha (Sun Temple) and the sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay.
VIP SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES
Visit Chinchero, Maras Salt Mines, and Moray. Buffet lunch in the Valley and train to Aguas Calientes.
MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Guided tour in the Inca Citadel (2.5h). Free time and return by Expedition train to Cusco.
FREE DAY IN CUSCO
Day to rest, enjoy local gastronomy, and shop at traditional markets.
HUMANTAY LAKE
Technical hike to the turquoise lagoon at the foot of Humantay glacier (4200m). Lunch in Mollepata.
RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY
Hike to Vinicunca (5100m) and descent through the spectacular Red Valley. Buffet lunch in Cusipata.
CHECCACUPE – PALCOYO
Visit the Stone Forest and the Palcoyo Mountain Range (4900m). Ceremony to Pachamama.
7 LAGOONS AUSANGATE
Exploration of Azulcocha, Otorongo, and other lagoons. Bath in Pacchanta hot springs.
FLIGHT CUSCO – LIMA
Transfer to the airport and return flight to Lima. Transfer to hotel in Miraflores.
LIMA – ORIGIN COUNTRY
Final transfer to Jorge Chavez Airport for your international flight. End of services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Although this is a comfort tour, it includes hikes above 5,000 meters (Rainbow Mountain). Good physical condition and prior acclimatization in Cusco are recommended.
