Elite Exploration
This 15-day expedition is the ultimate experience in the Peruvian Andes. We will circle the entire Huayhuash Range, crossing passes over 5,000 meters and camping alongside deep turquoise glacier lagoons.
Daily Schedule
LIMA PERU (161 MASL) – HUARAZ (3100 MASL)
Our FRANPISCO ADVENTURE team will meet you at Jorge Chávez Airport. We then transfer to the public bus terminal for the journey to Huaraz (approx. 8 hours). Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. Optional flights from Lima to Anta-Huaraz are also available.
FULL DAY ROCUTOYOC LAGOON (4450 MASL) – ACCLIMATIZATION
Departure at 6:00 am heading north. We visit Cashapunta viewpoint, Ruripaccha waterfall, ancient rock paintings, Rocutuyoc lagoon, the frozen lagoon, and Ruripaccha glacier (4,650 masl).
FREE DAY
A day of rest to aid acclimatization and gather energy before starting the Huayhuash circuit.
TRANSFER HUARAZ (3100M) - CHIQUIÁN - CUARTELWAIN (4180 MASL)
Travel to Cuartelwain (5 hours) where the donkeys and muleteers await. First campsite at 4180 masl for altitude adjustment.
CUARTELWAIN (4180M) – MITUCOCHA (4230M)
Cacananpunta Pass (4,700 masl). Views of Pucacocha and Yanacocha lagoons. Campsite at Jancapampa (4,230 masl) with views of Ninashanca and Jirishanca.
MITUCOCHA (4,230 MASL) - CARHUACOCHA (4,280 MASL)
Carhuac Pass (4,650 masl). Alternate route to the "Three Lagoons" viewpoint. Majestic views of Suila, Yerupaja, and El Toro mountains.
CARHUACOCHA (4,280 MASL) - HUAYHUASH (4,300 MASL)
The most challenging day. Viewpoint of the three lagoons (Siulacocha, Ganrajanca, Azulcocha). Siula Pass at 4,800 masl.
HUAYHUASH (4,350 MASL) - VICONGA (4,330 MASL)
Portachuelo Pass (4,750 masl). Views of the Raura range. Campsite at Viconga with access to 100% natural hot springs.
VICONGA (4,330 MASL)- CUYOCPAMPA (4,550 MASL)
Cuyoc Pass (5,000 masl). Panoramic views of Raura and Huayhuash. Optional: San Antonio Viewpoint (5,120 m) for a sunset spectacle.
CUYOCPAMPA (4,550 MASL) - HUAYLLAPA (3,630 MASL)
Sunrise at Santa Rosa Pass (5,080 masl). Incredible northern face views. Descend via Jurao lagoon to Huayllapa village.
HUAYLLAPA (3,630 MASL) - GASHPAPAMPA (4,550 MASL)
Ascend to Tapush Pass (4,800 masl). View of the famous Diablo Mudo (Silent Devil) peak. Reach Gashpapampa base camp.
GASHPAPAMPA (4,550 MASL) - JAHUACOCHA LAGOON (4,100 MASL)
Yaucha Pass (4,800 masl). Huacrish viewpoint overlooking Jahuacocha and Soltera Cocha lagoons.
JAHUACOCHA (4,100 MASL) - LLAMAC (3,300 MASL)
Final trekking day. Pampa Llamac Pass (3,900 masl). Descend to Llamac village and transfer back to Huaraz.
HUARAZ – LIMA
Transfer to the bus terminal for the return trip to Lima.
LIMA – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Transfer to Jorge Chávez International Airport. End of our services.
