The archaeological site of Chavín de Huántar is one of the most important in ancient Peru. On this tour we will cross the Cordillera Blanca through the Cahuish tunnel to explore the pyramids, underground galleries and the famous Lanzón Monolith.
Timeline
DEPARTURE FROM HUARAZ
Heading south visiting Recuay and Catac. Stop at Querococha lagoon (3980m) for panoramic photos.
CHAVÍN DE HUÁNTAR
Crossing the Cahuish tunnel. Guided visit to the archaeological site: Quadrangular Plaza, Circular Plaza, galleries and tenon heads. Visit to the Site Museum.
LUNCH & RETURN
Regional lunch in Chavín and return to Huaraz crossing the mountain range again. End of services.
