High-Level Training
This intensive 6-day program is designed for mountaineers seeking to consolidate their glacier and wall technique. Through four emblematic peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, we ascend from acclimatization in Mateo to technical climbing in Yanapaccha.
Under the supervision of UIAGM guides, this package offers not only spectacular summits but a practical course in technical mountaineering, preparing you for greater challenges like Alpamayo or Huascarán.
Technical Training Timeline
NEVADO MATEO (5120M) – ACCLIMATIZATION
Departure at 3:00 am to Punta Olímpica. 2-hour ascent over rocks and 1 hour of glacier to the summit. Perfect for starting mountaineering and ensuring optimal adaptation.
ICHIC ULTA (5350M) – TECHNICAL PREPARATION
Departure at 1:00 am. Panoramic ascent passing through the Punta Olímpica tunnel. 2 hours of moraine and 3 hours of glacier to reach 5350m with views of Huascarán South.
HUARAZ – BASE CAMP – VALLUNARAJU MORAINE CAMP (4980M)
Departure at 9:00 am towards Quebrada Llaca. Steep 3-hour ascent to the moraine camp, with spectacular valley views.
VALLUNARAJU SUMMIT (5680M) – HUARAZ
Summit push at 2:30 am. Ascent over rock and glacier to 5680m. Return to base camp and transfer back to Huaraz.
HUARAZ – KM. 42 – YANAPACCHA MORAINE CAMP (4800M)
Transfer to Km 42 via Llanganuco. 4-hour ascent to moraine camp at 4800m. We start the technical course on the glacier (PD+).
YANAPACCHA SUMMIT (5460M) – HUARAZ
Technical climbing to the summit. View of the giants: Huascarán, Chopicalqui, and Huandoys. Final descent and return to Huaraz.
