CUSCO – LARES HOT SPRINGS – HUACAWASI
Scenic journey to the Lares Valley. Relaxation time in medicinal thermal baths. Uphill hike toward the Quechua community of Huacawasi.
HUACAWASI – LARES PASS (4600M) – MISKI UNUYOC
The most demanding day. Crossing Huacawasi Pass surrounded by alpacas and llamas. Spectacular views of Auroray Lagoon and descent to camp.
MISKI UNUYOC – YANAHUARA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Descent to the Sacred Valley through the picturesque village of Yanahuara. Train journey from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu town.
MACHU PICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO
Guided tour in the Machu Picchu citadel. Free exploration and return by train and bus to Cusco city.
FUN FACT: The Lares valley is known for producing the best alpaca wool textiles in the region. You will have the chance to buy directly from the artisans.
